At Summerset on the Coast our range of indoor and outdoor facilities means you'll always have something to do, no matter what the weather. And, if you're keen to get involved, our on-site Activities Coordinator will make sure there's always a calendar of events and activities to keep you entertained.
Onsite we have our very own Divine Café and in-house catering, offering contemporary menus prepared on site with wholesome, seasonal, fresh, locally grown produce.

4 / 5 ★Ideal size village - we are a small community - with great management and responsive positive staff. Lots of space. Not crammed in.

4 / 5 ★I have only been here 6 months now. Have also been in hospital for some of that time. Have yet to settle in and have not yet had time to visit all entertainments. I receive copy of village newsletter.
I really love the size of our village
4 / 5 ★I really love the size of our village - small enough for us to be a 'community', big enough to have great staff and activities. I love that it "looks like the suburb outside" (our daughter-in-law's first reaction) with single-storey duplexes and lots of lawns and gardens - not blocks of apartments and rows of hen-coop homes. I love the personal care + attention given to us by all the staff team.

Lots of activities
4 / 5 ★Enjoyment requires participation. Lots of activities - some organised by residents and some organised by staff - are available but it is over to individuals to choose whether to engage. This is a great place to live but all retirement villages require compromises - and there are injustices and unfairness in the contracts (ORA/LTO).

4 / 5 ★So much depends on current management. Our current manager is receptive, thoughtful, open and positive. Has appointed excellent staff and supported staff who were struggling before. Previously, less optimal management has caused some discontent in the village. However, Summerset would still be my choice of retirement village, regardless.
