The gardens make my heart sing
5 / 5 ★The gardens make my heart sing. The main building makes me feel 'at home'. The staff make me feel wanted and included, so important after my husband died here 7 mths ago.
A True Home! Wonderful!
5 / 5 ★Wonderful environment (see positives above) but it is the staff which makes Charles Fleming the true home it is. Their care and feeling of true affection I feel for so many makes Charles Fleming truly special. So many great staff. Thank you!

Spacious and light apartment
4 / 5 ★I can not comment on activities at this stage, maybe when I have been here longer. All staff have been responsive and pleasant. Our apartment is spacious & light + No dark corners.

3 / 5 ★Need better processes for "welcoming" new people on arrival and "farewelling" when they leave. This applies to those who die and to those who move from 1 level of care to another. When people change villages there should be an "exit" interview conducted with a person of their choice.
Review for Charles Fleming Waikanae
3 / 5 ★Find room for a cafe that all can go to (outsiders as well). I went to the cafe at the Masonic Village at Levin recently and it was very popular. It is one way of encouraging people to visit the village and look around when they have their meal.<br />
Get more gardeners. They are obviously playing catchup.<br />
Get a buggy to ferry lookers around, and also if a resident is at the main building ,and needs assistance to go back to their home staff could use the buggy for that.
