Lots of Activities
5 / 5 ★We have an active village committee organising activities, keep moving, indoor bowls, bus trips, book club, arts and crafts, pentanque, train trips, walking group, speakers, dinners, concert trips. Regular meeting with management. Gardens and lawns are in excellent condition. There is a hospital onsite, daycare and a dementia unit. All with great service providers.
Positive village experience
5 / 5 ★General feel in village is one of family. People helping others, becoming friends. Some maintenance issues can take time to complete, but overall, all good.

4 / 5 ★Be open minded about receiving complaints about staff and how they are dealt with.
Friendly Village
4 / 5 ★This is a friendly village for those with simple interests. We have a good exercise programme for half an hour three times a week which is greatly appreciated by the good number who attend. We have a number of Christians who enjoy one another's company including a choir - no pool but walking group and monthly bus trip. Indoor hobbies etc...

Not what is made out to be with advertising
2 / 5 ★(In my opinion, the culture and atmosphere of the village have changed significantly since I first arrived.) When I came here, the atmosphere was different. (I felt the village had become more focused on religious values than I had expected, which was not what I originally signed up for.) Management run the place and (I feel the residents' committee is not operating as effectively as it could).

2 / 5 ★SDA church who run this as a public retirement village and resthome should hire a qualified manager and property manager. Financial qualifications and religion don’t work for all of us.

Unprofessional Management
1 / 5 ★Don't treat us like silly old people - we still have brains (well some of us). Have been here almost 6 years and have struggled to get repairs done. No co-ordination of committee and management. Not the peaceful retirement haven they advertised.
