Large village. Independent residents are in isolated buildings. Their only access to the main building's facilities is through the hospital building with ONE lift down to the reception area and the main social areas. This lift is heavily used by laundry, food and other trolleys, and can be full and difficult !
Why on earth didn't the designer provide a pathway around the side of the main building so residents in approx 150
independent units in the various out buildings have better access ?

Discrepancy between advertisement and reality
3 / 5 ★
Best choice/alternative but [I feel there is a] discrepancy between advertised hype and reality. [In my opinion the] food is barely acceptable and housekeeping of a reasonably low standard. [I feel like] management is unresponsive. (eds.)

Dont leave it too long - take time to choose

After one year of residency nothing has been done to make the entrance/exit from the van any easier for disabled people like me. I dislike being manhandled into the van and so don't go on trips. I am too slow getting around for short shopping trips so have to pay a lot to get my food delivered. I am not allowed to have an electric mobility chair- badly needed ! This place is huge and I am having to pay for upkeep on a building that is mainly for show. If I could I would be looking around for something different but in one of the worst financial decisions i have made I am locked in.,I didnt have time to look around - my family were so concerned and they were the ones that had to organise everything. The advertising for this place was rather misleading. I am surprised that so much food is bought and drought into the village eg. afternoon tea cakes are synthetic commercial examples but when things like simple scones are made here they resemble small bricks. Who is choosing kitchen staff ? Do they know anything about what is needed ? Is Management adequate for their tasks ?
